RIGHTS AND CONCESSIONS

i)    

Free grazing of animals in all Reserve Forests except in areas closed for Silvicultural reasons and other prohibited area is allowed as per G.O. Ms.No. 387/F&A/dt. 14.3.1968 and this concession is continued until further orders as per G.O. Ms.No. 306 F&RD (For.III) Department, dt. 7.8.1974. In this G.O., free removal of monsoon grass is also allowed.

ii)    

Free removal of thorns for bonafide use for fencing agricultural fields is permitted on payment of cost of transit permits as per G.O. Ms. 1800 F&RD dt.1.6.1957.

iii)    

The fodder grass is allowed to be removed in head and cart-loads from forests free of cost as per G.O.Ms.No.154 F&A (For.III) Department, dt.20.8.1969.

iv)    

The tribals living in the Reserve Forests are permitted to remove Minor Forest Produce (Non Timber Forest Produce) items for their domestic use and the Girijan Cooperative Corporation Ltd., Visakapatnam has been permitted by the Government for collection of MFP from the Reserve Forests through tribals. The Girijana Cooperative Corporation Limited, Visakapatnam, earlier called as Andhra Scheduled Tribe Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Limited, which was established in the year 1961, vide G.O. Rt.No.1 dt.2.1.1961 communicated in Chief conservator of Forests's Rc. Misc. No. 31/61 dt.25.1.1961 was given monopoly to purchase all the items of MFP by paying reasonable price to the tribals as the very objective in establishing this corporation was to safeguard the interest of the Tribals.
