The project aimed to provide an integrated and comprehensive livelihood options centered around development of compact blocks of assigned lands and the land owned by the poor to ensure that these  lands become productive assets for the poor.  In West Godavari district, in 23 mandals, 191 blocks are identified,  covering 11795 acres benefiting 7718 families involving an amount of Rs.19.36 crores  (NABARD fund Rs.14 crores + tied up with other departments of Rs.6.11 crores).  The  project launched on 19th November, 2004 by the  Hon’ble Minister Sri Bothsa Satyanarayana, Minister for Major Industries and District incharge minister.
