Settlement of Claims
- LIC will nominate their P&GS unit to
settle the claim of their local jurisdiction.
- Simplified bilingual claim from will
be made available to project society/SHG/ Gram Panchyat etc. After
completion it will be furnished to the nominated offices of LIC
through the D.R.D.A., W.G., Eluru.
- The cheque will be sent directly to
the claimant by post/courier without involving any intermediary
through the Gram Panchayat/SHG under intimation to the concerned
Project Society.
- The D.R.D.A., W.G., Eluru will
verify the incident or death/disability, and lodged the claims
within 15 days from the receipt of application and sent to LIC for
payment.
- LIC will release the payment within
15 days from the receipt of claims from the D.R.D.A., W.G., Eluru.
- Taking together (i) and (ii) total
time taken to settle the claim should not exceed 45 days in any
case.
- In case of any dispute, the Chairman
of the D.R.D.A. shall be the deciding authority.
- LIC Central Office will furnish all
statistics to Ministry of Labour with regard to
state-wise/society-wise number of claims received, settled, amount
claimed, amount paid, type of claim, etc. on monthly/quarterly basis.
Evidence of Age
The Gram Panchayat/SHG will arrange to
obtain satisfactory evidence of age in respect of each member at the
time of his/her entry into the scheme.
Termination of Membership
The membership of the scheme in respect
of member shall terminate upon the happening of any of the following
events:
- A member ceasing to be a member of the
Group.
- Member reaching the terminal date.
- Non payment of contribution to the
Scheme.
- On death of the beneficiary.
Master Policy
The LIC will issue a Master Policy to the
agency implementing the scheme at grass root level i.e., Gram Panchayat/SHG
etc. incorporating the terms and conditions under which the benefits are
assured. However, LIC will maintain individual records pertaining to
premium received etc. of the beneficiaries as well.
Nomination
Every member shall at the time of entry
into the scheme appoint one or more of his wife or child/children or
dependents to be his beneficiary/beneficiaries in the prescribed format
and file it with the Gram Panchayat/SHG. If a member does not have a
wife or a child or children or dependent than he shall appoint his legal
representatives to whom in the event of death of the member, the
benefits in respect of him will be passed.
Welfare Activities under the Scheme
The following welfare activities will be
provided under the Scheme
- Life-cum-accident insurance.
- Money back
- Superannuation benefits
Eligibility
Agriculture Workers between the age of 18
to 50 years.
Contribution
- The worker will contribute Rs.365/-
per annum (Rs.1/- per day).
- The Government of India will
contribute Rs.730/- per annum per worker.
- For pension eligibility minimum period
of contribution will be 10 years.
On death before age 60
- Lump Sum payment of Rs.20,000 on
death.
- Lump Sum payment of Rs.50,000 in case
of death due to accident.
- Return of contribution plus interest
or pension for family
On disability due to accident before
age 60
Lump sum payment of Rs.50,000/- in case
of permanent total disability or Rs.25,000/- in case of permanent
partial disability due to accident. |
