NABARD ASSISTED WORKS

Major Irrigation :

Reconstruction of 43 structures on canals of Godavari Western Delta system were taken up with NABARD assistance under RIDF II at a revised cost of Rs. 1674.26 lakhs so far 41 structures were completed and 2 works are in progress and will be completed by December 2001.
Improvements to Gostanadi drain cum canal from Km 11.668 to 33.796 was also taken up with NABARD assistance under RIDF IV from Rs. 381.80 lakhs and the work is almost completed.

Medium Irrigation :

Vijayarai anicut is being constructed on Tammileru river near Vijayarai (V) to stabilise an ayacut of 10721 acres under various open head channels on Tammileru. The revised estimate cost is Rs. 440 lakhs and the balance work costing Rs. 159 lakhs was taken up with NABARD assistance under RIDF III. The works of anicut, left side link channel were completed and the work of right side link channel was held up due to objections by land losers and is programmed to be completed by December 2001.
